Project Profile

Cheerful Special Home is a charitable institution which was started in 2005 by two volunteer teachers who by virtual of their profession had realized the problems children with mental handicaps from poor families and orphans were undergoing. They care, support and train these vulnerable persons. It is not a profit making venture but an initiative where they can all join hands and help these physically and mentally challenged persons.  There are 24 children aged between 10 to 17 years who are leave in the project and has 11 staff and caretakers who take care of the children. The home aims to provide quality services to mentally handicapped orphans so that they may be productive and useful members in the society. They also make the children feel wanted and appreciated which helps them develop their talents.

The project relies on well-wishers and people of good will who support them with basic education, food, clothing and health care including jigger eradication drugs. There are a large number of needy children the project would really like to admit to the Home but, due to the financial and resource constraints, they have limited number of the children they can support.
