Project Profile

Jenga Village Volunteers is a non-profit, non-governmental, community-based organization that was started to support and empower the community of Shikumu Village in Western Kenya. JEVIVO stands for Jenga Village Volunteers, with “Jenga” derived from the Swahili meaning “to build.”

Through a holistic approach, our partner supports vulnerable groups in Shikumu Village with programs in early childhood care, health, environmental conservation, and youth development. Key initiatives include a day care for disadvantaged children, clean water and sanitation projects, a community greenhouse for food security, health outreach with CHVs, and a youth recreation center offering skills and safe spaces during school holidays.
